A 10 week group executive coaching programme for mid-to-senior design leaders.
Professional executive coaching can be hugely beneficial, providing the space and structure to think more strategically about our personal and professional challenges.
Delivered by Julia Whitney—the former Executive Creative Director and General Manager of UX&Design at the BBC, turned executive coach—we'll take a small cohort of Design Leaders through a series of five online group coaching sessions, taking place every other week.
The content of these sessions will be led by participants, so could cover the whole gamut of leadership challenges from day-to-day interpersonal issues like raising your influence or dealing with conflict, through to more existential questions around career journey, values and purpose.
One of the things we like most about group coaching is the support you get from your peers. There are many common challenges when it comes to design leadership, and while coaching isn't designed to give you definitive answers, it’s very beneficial to hear a range of perspectives.
Design leadership can also be a lonely and isolating role, especially if you’re the only one of your kind in the organisation. So group coaching allows you to meet new people in similar roles, form deeper bonds, and create a support network that extends well beyond the programme duration.
If you've been considering executive, leadership or career coaching, group practice can be a safe, enjoyable and cost-effective way to get started. This is a great option if you just want to dip your toe in the water, or are looking at this as a route to a more longer term coaching relationship.
The entire 10 week programme is available for £850 excl. VAT.
Along with our expert coach and facilitator Julia Whitney you will meet with your coaching cohort every two weeks across a 10 week period.
All sessions will take place online on alternate Tuesdays at 8am-9.30am PT / 11am - 12.30am ET / 4pm-5.30pm UK.

I could not more highly recommend Clearleft and Julia Whitney's coaching program. This opportunity definitely provided me with the opportunity to practice coaching skills that will be invaluable to my leadership and my team.
Kristina Lawyer, Design Lead at Goalbook
As a new leader, the group coaching programme provided a safe space, every few weeks, to talk & reflect on shared challenges with design leaders from a range of organizations. Breakout sessions were a good opportunity to practice techniques learned in the group; silent coaching - listening and getting comfortable with not saying anything has been useful in all aspects of work & life.
Teak Miu-Tse, Executive Creative Director of Design Systems & Operations | Sky Design
It’s been great to think about my own problems. At work your time's is taken with other people’s problems. This has given me a framework to apply when leading my team - to empower them to find their own solutions.
Monika Zych, Director of Product Design l Supermetrics
The solutions I see are normally from my echo chamber. During this programme I have received real-talk around shared problems which has made me feel much less alone. I’ll be using the frameworks I learnt in my 121s right away.
Kirk Gustafson, Director, UK l Muck Rack
Knowing I have this to look forward to in my calendar has made me realise what leadership means to me and how I can make it more fun. The programme has given me a sense of community. Breaking things down into single steps meant that by the end of the programme I had been able to make impactful change.
