Simon is a design leader and the former Director of Content, Research & Design at Deliveroo, one of Europe’s fastest-growing technology companies. He joined the company as one of its early employees and its first designer, before subsequently leading the content design, user research & product design organisation as the company scaled from operations in a few London neighbourhoods to 500 towns, 14 countries, 2000 employees, and a valuation of over $2 billion.
Designing a product is surprisingly similar to designing an organisation. During his time at Deliveroo, Simon started by doing the former and ended up doing the latter. In this talk, Simon will reflect on his personal journey from being a designer to becoming a manager of managers - and share some of the lessons he's learned.
