Events and ticket purchases

We organise events and sell tickets either:

  • Through a third-party ticketing platform, or
  • Directly via email and invoice

In both cases, we act as a data controller in relation to attendee information.

Where tickets are purchased through a third-party platform, you will also be subject to that provider’s terms and privacy policy.

Marketing communications

If you purchase a ticket to one of our events, we may contact you by email about future events or related services.

We do this under the “soft opt-in” rules permitted under UK law, where:

  • You have purchased from us, and
  • The marketing relates to similar events or services.

You are given the opportunity to opt out at the point of purchase, and every marketing email includes an unsubscribe option. You can opt out at any time.

If you have not purchased from us, we will only send marketing communications where you have provided explicit consent.

Event photography and video

We may photograph or film our events for promotional and marketing purposes. This may include images or video in which attendees are identifiable.

We use event photography and video to:

  • Promote future events
  • Share highlights on our website and social media
  • Provide a record of the event

Our legal basis for this processing is legitimate interests, specifically promoting and developing our events and services.

Opting out

We provide attendees with the opportunity to opt out of photography and filming.

If you prefer not to appear in photographs or video, you can:

  • Let us know in advance, or
  • Speak to a member of our team at the event.

We will take reasonable steps to respect your preference. You may also contact us after the event to request removal of an image in which you appear.

Legal basis for processing

Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following lawful bases:
